137 reasons to buy the new Athena Calderone collection from Crate & Barrel

The Le Tuco chair, named after Calderon’s dog, sells for $2,699 and is made with sheepskin upholstery with bun-shaped wooden legs and a casual slope to the arms.

CHICAGO – Crate & Barrel has launched a new collection with New York interior designer Athena Calderone that includes furniture, entertainment and decor products.

“We were thrilled to work with Athena to create timeless pieces that transcend trends,” said Sebastian Brauer, Crate + Barrel, Senior Vice President of Product Design, Head of Metaverse and Web 3.0. “Athena’s ambitious vision and commitment to living beautifully, coupled with our design-centric craftsmanship and values of living with purpose and intention, shines through in the authentic details and materials of this lifestyle collection.”

The exclusive collaboration draws inspiration from ancient forms and holistic design discoveries discovered on Calderone’s journey to curate pieces for his home.

Inspired by contemporary and global design elements, the collection builds on the designer’s signature style of making familiar shapes feel new and fresh combined with Crate & Barrel’s modern design. Much like the collection informed that it took Calderone years to curate his own home, these products connect the past, present and future by blending materials, finishes and periods of architectural influence.

“The shared vision of making beautiful design accessible to everyone has really been captured through this collaboration with Crate & Barrel and I can’t wait to see how people style the pieces.” said Calderon. “What an honor to think about how the collection will live in people’s homes and intimate spaces for years to come.”

Highlights of the collection include the Scandinavian-inspired shearling Chair The Tuco and the Angolan sofa, which features a soft mohair fabric. Entertaining pieces create a high tone above the Es Taller dining tablewhile the decor comprising the Crucible Planters and the Facet and Huge Fluted Vases give old shapes an elegant and modern look, according to Calderone.

Available exclusively at Crate & Barrel, customers can purchase the Athena Calderone Collection which includes 137 pieces and prices ranging from $7.95 to $2,699.
