Located on the Sainte-Barbe Bastion in Valletta, the Iniala Harbor House is in a class of its own when it comes to luxury finishes. The overall design combines ultra-modern finishes that complement traditionally restored materials showing great respect for the local heritage.
The conversion of this row of old Maltese houses into an elegant and luxurious hotel has been entrusted to Halmann Vella as the prime contractor, responsible for project management, manufacturing, supply and installation of hundreds of square meters of marble and ceramic tiles.
A new floor covering in Travertine Silver completes the old restored marble staircase at the entrance. A contrasting border of Nero Marquina and Bianco Sivec marble encrusted with lighting follows the contours of the walls.
The downstairs toilet follows the Nero Marquina marble floor from the entrance, this time paired with the rich Calacatta Retro Venato marble on the walls. In contrast to this, the bathroom floor on the first floor is made of Karaman light cream interwoven with an exquisite sliver of Verde Guatemala marble.
Iniala is built around three thoughtful themed bedroom sets: The House, The Residences and The Hideaway.
Entrance to the house is via a grand restored staircase dating from the late 19th century leading to 10 meticulously restored bedrooms finally leading to a hallway with a mix of Crema Laguna marble and Maltese hard stone floors. The suites themselves feature parquet-look tiled floors, generous Travertine Silver bathrooms integrated with solid marble shower trays, and bespoke abstract art installations as wall elements based on the landscapes of La Valletta.
âThe Residencesâ are four of the largest and most exquisite suites. The two Presidential Suites and the Grand Residence are individually designed with unique wallpapers and brass artwork, parquet floors and natural wood furniture. Daino Reale and black and gold marble in all suites. The bathrooms are completed with Calacatta Retro Venato and Black and Gold marble pieces.
The Presidential Penthouse is uniquely styled, with Kerakoll flooring supplied and installed by JMV Ltd and an unprecedented hard stone soffit made from local hard stone cut using state of the art machinery at Halmann Vella factories. It was then installed on a custom structure designed and manufactured in the Halmann Vella factories. The coordination between soffits, soffit work and sleek LED lighting is a play on the city of Valletta, mimicking traditional building materials.
Halmann Vella has restored the ceiling of the Vaults lounge to a high standard, ready to welcome guests under the impressive vaulted ceilings.
The ION restaurant on the top floor is finished with an original pattern with Cream Karaman marble interwoven with a refined sliver of Verde Guatemala marble. The restaurant has a wooden soffit.
The elevator floor is a luxurious material package using Infinity: Extra Statuario engineered stone for the walls and floor and corner details in Pietra Gray. A custom brass logo is embedded in the ground using waterjet technology.
The calming atmosphere of the Essensi Spa in the hotel vaults was created by the use of silver travertine floors throughout the spa and relaxation rooms. The green and blue glass mosaic tiles of the luxurious heated swimming pool were used to simulate the colors of the still water.
The seamless experience at Iniala is designed by Acero, Autoban and Greta.
