Design Edge Chicago Announces New Lineup

CHICAGO – Design Edge Co., the only trade show that brings top designer-focused brands directly to interior designers across North America, announces educational and social programming for its two-day event at The Geraghty, from September 21 to 22.

Open free to registered attendees, a host of events were held to attract interior designers from Chicago and the Midwest region, including the following:

Wed 21 Sep

Building a personal brand that supports your design business 10-11 a.m.

Moderated by Shannon Sharpe, Homes Editor, Luxury Interiors + Designthis roundtable includes top interior designers Amy Wertepny and Amhad Freeman as well as industry experts Erin McKinley, Christine Phillips and Jane Gish.

Cocktails from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

A social gathering with remarks from sponsors and partners Luxury + Design Interiors, High Point Market Authority, ASID Midwest Region and River North Design District chapters. Interior designer Amy Kartheiser will introduce Under the Same Sky to the group, a non-profit organization that raises awareness about mental health. Following the reception, Chicagoland manufacturer Eastern Accents will host a speakeasy-themed social networking opportunity.

Rates and prices 9am to 10.30am

Melissa Galt, interior design business coach, kicks off day two of Design Edge Chicago with her ever-popular topic, “Rates and Fees to Double Your Income in Half the Time,” a how-to guide for planning fee based on value. Registration is recommended due to limited seating. A book signing event for Galt’s indispensable guide Luxury marketing: attracting wealthy customers will follow.

Support the Midwest Designer 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

“Getting it Right from the Start” ASID Midwest Chapter sponsored a discussion on the interior designer’s critical role in construction from start to finish. Moderated by Melissa Galt, the roundtable will feature interior designers Julia Buckingham and Amy Storm, as well as design and construction leaders George Markoutsas, The ABL Group; Michael Conneely, Greenside Design Build; and Raynette Bradford, Moment Architecture and Design.

Design Edge was the first trade event to bring kitchen and bath resources together with furniture suppliers at its event in Seattle this spring. Building on this success, a “Kitchen and Bath Experience” presentation is planned for the Chicago event. Participating brands include Bentwood Luxury Kitchens, Brizo, Consentino and Monogram.

Other firsts at Design Edge Chicago include a special exhibit by Thom Filicia with partner brands Vanguard, Eastern Accents, Wendover Art Group, Feizy and Cyan Design; and designer Amy Kartheiser’s “Meet the Maker” Instagram series.

The show’s opening hours are Wednesday 21/09, from 10 am to 6 pm; and Thursday 22/09, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
