DALLAS, TX (October 22, 2021) – Dufresne Spencer Group (DSG) has teamed up with the Dallas Cowboys to pledge half a million dollars to refit dozens of shelters in Texas, including those damaged during winter storms in February, for the homeless and those fleeing domestic violence.
The unprecedented commitment of half a million dollars represents the
biggest commitment to redeveloping Texas shelters, according to Chad Spencer, CEO of DSG.
“Whether it’s the increased demand for services due to COVID-19 or the broken pipes that damaged so many shelters during the historic February freeze in Texas, the need to help these facilities has never been that big, ”he says.
Dallas Cowboys Hall of Fame member Drew Pearson and longtime team announcer Brad Sham joined DSG officials to make the announcement at a cheering rally in the showroom of the home furnishings retailer in the Dallas suburb of Frisco.
The partnership’s first “act of kindness” will redevelop Salvation Army shelters in Dallas and Fort Worth, both of which are undergoing important and long-awaited updates to better meet the growing demand for their services. The two shelters are expected to be renovated and refurbished in early 2022.
Future “acts of kindness” will include the delivery of new furniture, accessories and decorations for bedrooms, dining rooms, living rooms and kitchens for other organizations in need.
As part of the community outreach program, a home page was created at www.DallasCowboys.com/ActsofKindness where individuals can recommend organizations in need of an “act of kindness”.
DSG’s partnership with the Cowboys also extends to team play on the pitch. During two promotional periods at the start of the current football season, customers who have purchased an item, room or house full of furniture at a participating Ashley store will receive a discount equal to the purchase price of qualifying merchandise. if the Cowboys make it to the big game in 2022.
