Letter: Local group ready to distribute to the needy | Opinion

Now that the hot season has arrived, so have the braderies. Robin Hood Of Danville is ready and eager to pick up what’s left after your event. Your leftovers benefit so many Danville families.

For those who don’t want to bother selling, your donation will be greatly appreciated. Your items are also tax deductible since we are a state-certified non-profit organization in Illinois. We accept clothing, miscellaneous household items and furniture. Everything must be clean and in good condition.

We come to your home to pick up your items. Due to high gas prices at the pump, we are accepting donations.

You won’t have to worry about charging it up and taking it to town. The items that are distributed to these low-income families are free. They don’t have to pay anything for it. With today’s economy, it’s hard to make ends meet. Receiving these items is a huge relief to these families.

I can say without a doubt that these families are very grateful for what is given to them. Without our distribution, many children would not have decent clothes for school.

2022 marks 36 years of collecting your dig remains. I have seen families living in poverty. We have helped many victims of fires and floods. Thanks to your years of generosity, so many families have not had to go without everyday essentials that we take for granted. Families barely surviving, living paycheck to paycheck.

Robin Hood Of Danville never questions a need. In the Bible, we are asked to help the poor. There will always be poor people among us. Give them generously.

We pick up in the cities of Danville, Westville, Georgetown, Catlin, Fairmount, Oakwood, Bismark and Covington, Indiana.

Give us a call and we’ll be happy to make arrangements to collect your items.

Thank you and God bless you.

Gregory Miller (217-442-7586), Danville
