Leading PU foam maker, The Vita Group, based in Middleton, has been crowned ‘Manufacturer of the Year (over £25m)’ at North West’s Made in the North West awards ceremony Business Insider.

The same week Vita Group released its landmark sustainability report, Improving Everyday Life, the judges said, “If you were to start a new manufacturing company, you would emulate Vita Group. They are innovative and invest in the territory. It is about longevity and a very exciting business, which has retained customers for decades.

Now in its tenth year, Made in the North West 2022 recognizes products, innovations and ideas from manufacturers in the region. Hosted in partnership with the Department of International Trade at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester, the event brought together the North West’s brightest makers to celebrate their approach to sustainability, innovation and the series of challenges that the last two years have featured.

In addition to winning the first ‘Manufacturer of the Year’ category, The Vita Group was also shortlisted for the ‘Sustainable/Ethical Manufacturer Award’ and the ‘Manufacturing Innovation Award’, recognizing the company’s commitment to the G.

Ian Robb, CEO of The Vita Group, said: “It is an honor for the hard work of The Vita Group to be recognized at the Made in the North West Awards. This latest distinction reflects the fact that we continue to create positive value within the communities that the Vita Group operates while delivering business excellence.

“The entire team continues to take pride in our ability to innovate within the PU foam industry, with the goal of educating the rest of the market on how we can all move forward together towards a sustainable future. “

The Insider award is the latest recognition for the band in a busy few weeks. Last month, Vita Group received the Judges’ Choice Award for International Business at the MEN Business of the Year Awards.

Additionally, Middleton’s Vita Comfort site, which provides premium products and services to the bedding and furniture industries, recently received an international safety award from the British Safety Council, while UK team Usleep won been officially recognized by a Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) award.
