Fundraising event at Vita’s headquarters in Middleton raised £ 2,275 for Cash for Kids
The Vita Group sales colleagues have spread some festive goodwill by raising over £ 2,000 in toys for Bauer Radio’s charity, Cash for Kids, this holiday season.
Each year, Cash for Kids runs its “Mission Christmas” campaign, which asks people to purchase an additional Christmas gift that can be given to families in difficulty this time of year. Cash for Kids is a grant-making charity, part of the Bauer Radio network, including Hits Radio Manchester and Key Radio.
They fundraise for voluntary and charitable projects that work directly with disadvantaged children in Greater Manchester.
Nicola Baron, who joined the Vita group in 2019, had previously supported Cash for Kids in another workplace for many years, held a fundraiser at Vita’s headquarters in Middleton on December 3, raising £ 2,275 with help from colleagues Vita Vicky Kennedy and Lee Greaves.
Nicola held a raffle, asked for toy donations in exchange for tickets, and organized fabulous prizes, including luxury baskets and spa treats donated by local businesses. Vita Group CEO Ian Robb made the draw in his Christmas sweater.
Ian said: “Nicola is a true unsung hero; throughout the year she hosts several events to raise funds for charity which is a wonderful thing to do. She has always supported Mission Christmas, and we all love to help her collect as much as we can, to help ensure that no child is left behind at Christmas. “
Jessica Rigby, Charity Manager at Hits Radio, said: “For so many families in Greater Manchester, Christmas is a luxury they cannot afford. At Hits Radio Cash for Kids, we are just a small team of three with a big mission to make Christmas Day different for thousands of children living in poverty in our city.
“We couldn’t do the job we do without the incredible support of people like Nicola! For many years now, she has done everything to help us by organizing many fundraising activities with her colleagues from the Vita Group.
“This year we were blown away to hear that Nicola raised a fantastic £ 2,000 which resulted in the charity purchasing many great gifts. On behalf of Cash for Kids and the local children, to whom we can bring some joy this Christmas, I want to thank Nicola and all the other members of the Vita group who kindly donated.
“Mission Christmas is more than just a gift; it gives hope, shows that we care and allows children to still believe in the magic of Christmas. ”
Nicola Baron, Sales Administrator at The Vita Group, said: “Cash for Kids is a charity that my husband and I care about. We are fortunate to give our two children a lot of beautiful gifts this Christmas, but I realize that many children do not have the same privilege.
“Having now raised over £ 2,000 which was spent on toys for the children in the area over Christmas, it made me really proud of the whole team. We have so much to offer; it’s really unbelievable. “
