The Palatine Lions Club and Palatine Township are co-sponsoring an 8 a.m. to noon textile recycling event on Saturday, April 9 at the Palatine Township office, 721 S. Quentin Rd., Palatine.
Items that will be sorted, recycled and reused include clothing; coats and jackets; bedding and household linen; towels, washcloths and bath mats; table linen and cloth napkins; socks; hats and gloves; underwear and bras; sandals and slippers; handbags and purses; fashion accessories and belts and ties; stuffed animals; books and toys; kitchen utensils and tools; drapes/curtains; and children’s beds and sleeping bags.
Items that will not be accepted include appliances, furniture, tires, paints, carpets, mattresses, metal, glass, paper and hazardous waste.
The next textile recycling event will take place on October 15.
The two organizations will host shredding events on May 7 and September 17 as well as an electronic event on June 18.
Additionally, the Lions Club will host its 34th Annual Palatine Lions Club/Tom Dorsch Memorial Golf Outing at Palatine Hills on Wednesday, August 10.
