BOISE, Idaho — Sister Brands Scandinavian designs and Dania Furniture expanded its management team with the promotions of Edward Gerard to chief operating officer and Mark Gehler to chief administrative officer.
Gérard worked for 20 years at Tiffany & Co., where he was director of the Asian international division, then promoted to vice president of the retail sales group in the United States. He then worked as President and CEO of Maui Divers Jewelry. He joins Scandinavian Designs and Dania Furniture as general store manager.
In his new role, Gerard will oversee and support the leaders of all stores, distribution centers, online store and transportation department, to help cover the operations of a growing business and maximize success. He will also work closely with the training department to help improve and ensure consistency of processes across the company.
Gehler served 12 years in the US Marine Corps and upon his discharge began a career in human resources and labor relations. His experience includes serving as Senior Director of Corporate Human Resources during the merger between Albertson’s and Safeway Inc. He joined Scandinavian Designs and Dania Furniture as Director of Human Resources.
Since joining the company, Gehler has led the charge to dramatically increase its workforce and negotiated better employee benefits. In his new role, he will oversee and support HR, accounting, IT, asset protection and communications leaders to continue to improve the employee experience and achieve employer of choice status. .
